History

After the appearance of the 765th fighter aviation regiment at the Salk airfield in 1953, in the late 1950s, aircraft repair workshops were formed to repair the MiG-15 and MiG-17 aircraft for the needs of the 87th fighter aviation defense division. On March 1, 1967, the 806th aircraft repair plant (ARZ) was formed at the base of aircraft repair workshops. 48742. The plant specialized in the overhaul of Su-9 aircraft. Since 1978, the team began repairing a new type of product - the MiG-23 .


Stages of development of the MiG-23 modifications:

  • 1978-1980 - MiG-23UB (product 23UB);
  • 1980-1987 - MiG-23M (product 23M);
  • 1983-1988 - The MiG-23ML (product 23-12) for the MiG-23MLD variant (product 23-18) was mastered and finalized;
  • since 1987 - MiG-23P (product 23P);
  • in 1987 - four copies of the MiG-23MLD (product 23-18) were finalized under the MiG-23MLDG variant (product 23-57).

The plant’s staff also mastered the repair of weapons for the Su-9 and MiG-23 aircraft: product 67 ( R-55 aircraft missile) and 62K product ( R-60 aircraft missile).

In 1982, he performed the repair of the Su-17 belonging to the Flight Test Base.

In the 90s, the plant took orders for the repair of civil aircraft: An-2 , Yak-18T , Yak-52 .

In 1994, the 806th aircraft repair plant (military unit 48742) and the 765th IAP, which was also based at the Salk airfield, were reorganized in 1454 as the reserve base for aircraft (BRAT) (military unit 40374). 1454 BROTHER lasted until 2004.
