Leopoldia ( lat. Leopoldia ) - a genus of perennial herbaceous bulbous plants of the subfamily Proleskovye family Asparagus .

The genus is named after the Grand Duke of Tuscany Leopold II , who helped organize the Florence Botanical Museum.

Botanical Description
Bulbous plants. Leaves are wide, in a near-surface bunch. The inflorescences are racemose, at the apex of the flowers are sterile, usually painted brighter than prolific. The fruit is in the form of a trihedral box.

- Leopoldia bicolor - Lebanon, Israel, Palestine, Egypt.
- Leopoldia caucasica - Caucasian Leopoldia - Transcaucasia, Iran, Turkmenistan, Iraq, Turkey.
- Leopoldia comosa - Crested Leopoldia - a wide range from the Canary Islands and Central Europe to Iran, including the Crimea and the Black Sea steppes. A popular ornamental plant, cultivated varieties. Dishes from his pickled onions are included in the traditional cuisine of Italy, Greece, Iran.
- Leopoldia cycladica - endemic to the Cyclades .
- Leopoldia eburnea - Southern Israel and Egypt.
- Leopoldia ghouschtchiensis is an endemic of Iran, described in 2011.
- Leopoldia gussonei - Sicily and the southern regions of the Apennine peninsula.

- Leopoldia tenuiflora - Fine - flowered Leopoldia - a wide range from the southern regions of Germany to Iran and Saudi Arabia.
- Leopoldia tijtijensis is an endemic of Iran, described in 2012.
- Leopoldia weissii - the southern islands of the Aegean Sea and the surrounding areas of Turkey.
Earlier species of the genus Leopoldia were included in the genus Muscari .
