Education
In 1981 he graduated from the Geophysical Department of the Far Eastern State University with a degree in Geography.
In 1981-1984 he studied at graduate school at the Pacific Institute of Geography, Far Eastern Scientific Center, Academy of Sciences of the USSR .
In 1984 he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of geographical sciences on the topic "Processes of territorial-production complex formation in the southern zone of the Far East." The dissertation was defended at the VB Sochava Institute of Geography SB RAS .
In November 2005 he defended his thesis for the degree of Doctor of Geographical Sciences on the topic "Structural Changes in the Territorial-Industrial Systems of Industry of the Russian Far East."

As part of a team of scientists from the Pacific Institute of Geography, Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences , headed by academician P. Ya. Baklanov , together with the faculty of the Far Eastern State University, he took a leading part in the creation of a new scientific school “Economic, Social and Political Geography” in the Far East. At the Far Eastern Federal University, he developed a special course "Geographical Foundations of Marketing" and conducts reading the courses "Territorial Organization of the Economy" and "Geography of Industry of Russia".
A. V. Moshkov is a respected member of the socio-geographical community and one of the leading economic geographers in the Russian Far East . The results of scientific research of A. V. Moshkov are of great practical importance for the development of the economic complex of the Far Eastern regions. Developments are used in the creation and implementation of regional programs for socio-economic development, solving administrative and territorial problems.
The author of more than 180 scientific papers, many scientific articles published in peer-reviewed scientific journals of the Higher Attestation Commission . He is also the author of 12 monographs, including:
