San Justo ( Spanish: San Justo ) is a city located in the municipality of La Matanza , in the province of Buenos Aires ( Argentina ). San Justo forms part of the agglomeration of Greater Buenos Aires .

History
The district of La Matanza existed since 1501, but for a long time did not have a city center [1] . In 1852, the magistrate Lina Lagos concluded the first agreement on the allocation of land for the construction of the city. The founding date of San Justo is considered to be December 25, 1856, when the first stone of the city was laid on the territory of the landowner Justo Villegas.
On January 8, 1857 the municipality of San Justo was established. November 13, 1857 defined the boundaries of the city. The town center was built in Spanish style, with a park and a town hall. A bank and a police station were also erected.
In 1860, the first church was built in San Justo.
In 1955, San Justo received city status. [2] .
Nowadays, San Justo is a developed city with a large variety of shops and educational institutions. The famous Argentinean writer Pedro Bonifacio Palacios was born in the city, after whom the main street San Justo - Almafuerte ( alias Palacios) was named.
Economy
The city has been experiencing severe economic problems in recent decades. In the 1940s-50s, most of the enterprises in the city flourished, but during the crisis they were stopped. The enterprises worked mainly in the meat industry. In the city grew up poor neighborhoods.
However, until now, San Justo remains an important industrial center where automobile parts, paper , and rubber products are made. In the vicinity of the city there are agricultural lands where wheat , maize , barley and alfalfa are grown , as well as livestock farms [2] .
Education
In San Justo developed education system, it houses a number of famous schools. The Almafuerte and Parrocial de San Justo schools are considered to be one of the best schools in Argentina. In total, the city has 10 kindergartens and 34 schools [3] .
On October 27, 1989, the National University of La Matanza was founded in San Justo. The university now has about 33 thousand students in 15 specialties and employs more than 1,000 teachers.
