Biography
He studied first at the PR school in Warsaw , and then at the University of Berlin , after which he, since 1823 , was a teacher in various Warsaw schools. After that, he exclusively engaged in entomology and, for scientific purposes, traveled first in Central Europe, and then with c. Branicki and Tachanovsky, he explored southern Europe and parts of Africa , especially Egypt and Nubia.
The author of numerous scientific and popular publications. His most important works are as follows: "Rzecz o piórze" ( 1825 ); "Uwagi nad gatunkami drobnych krustaceów" ( 1825 ); "O utrzymaniu pijawek" ( 1826 ); "O nowym gatunku pszczo ł owatego owadu" ( 1826 ); Uwagi nad niektóremi owadami ( 1838 ); "Nouvelle éspèce d'insecte Tempistera" ( 1839 ); “Description de quelques mynapodes” ( 1839 ): “Rozprawa o ptakach” ( 1845 ); "Historia naturalna" ( 1860 ).
Anton Stanislav Waga was the first entomologist to apply biological control methods for plant pests in Poland. He also conducted a number of studies and observations in the field of fish farming , ornithology and theriology . Since 1841 - editor of the Department of Natural Sciences of the Warsaw Library.
His brother Jacob Waga was known as a nerd.
