Life
Virtually nothing is known about the life of St. Magna and his ministry. Saint Magnus lived during the time of the Ostrogoth King, the Arianin Theodoric the Great , who probably supported at first, but later executed him. The text of the epitaph is well known, which has come down to us thanks to , who portrays Saint Magna as a man of high merits who helps prisoners of war.
Saint Magnus died in the year 530. His body was transferred to the temple of Sant Eustorgio , in Milan . A later legend says that of sv. Magnus belonged to the Trincheri family of Milan (Trincheri).
Honor
The first finding of the relics of the saint refers to 1248. The relics were acquired by the Dominicans , who ruled over the cathedral of St. Yevstorgiya in Milan.
The main temple of the city of Legnano , located about 20 km from Milan, is dedicated to St. Magna. The local was built between 1503 and 1513. Part of the relics of the saint was transferred to this basilica on November 5, 1900 .
The memory of St. Magna in the Basilica takes place on November 5th. He is also commemorated with all the bishops of Milan on September 25 .
