Biography
He graduated in physics and law. He worked as a physics teacher at the Lyceum Philippe Guerrier, then - a professor of law. From 1928 to 1937 - Judge of the city court in Cap-Haitien.
After the January Revolution (1946), he was elected senator and appointed chairman of the Supreme Court. When President Paul Magloire fled the country in December 1956, he was appointed Acting President of Haiti in accordance with the Constitution.
In his first radio address to the people, he promised to hold the presidential election in April 1957 and ordered the release of former presidential candidate, wealthy planter Louis Dejoi and other political prisoners. In early January 1957, he ordered the search and expropriation of property belonging to former President Magular.
In February 1957, he was replaced by acting President Frank Sylvain .
