History
With the resumption of the Diocese of Caransebesh in 1865, a diocesan theological institute with theological and pedagogical departments was established in the city of Caransebeş, which in 1927 was transformed into the Caransebesh Theological Academy. The Academy lasted until 1948, when due to a change in the political situation in the country, it was abolished and transformed into a school for the training of church choristers.
In 1955, the activity of the Karansebesh Theological Seminary was resumed with a five-year study cycle. In 1993, the seminary received a state license for educational activities at the secondary school level.
In 1998, an agreement was reached with the on the establishment of a faculty of Orthodox theology with a four-year course of study [1] .
