Hakobyan Gevond Avakovich ( Armenian Հակոբյան Ղևոնդ Ավագի ; November 26, 1908 - July 27, 1986 ) - participant of the Great Patriotic War , major general of the engineering and technical service (1958).

Biography
Born in the suburbs of Kishlak (Zhdanovo), Kirovakan , Armenia November 26, 1908 .
Education
- 1931 - graduated from the labor school in the city of Leninakan .
- 1932 - by the decision of the command of the military unit, he was sent to study at the V. Kuibyshev Military Engineering Academy , at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
Military Service
In 1931, G. A. Hakobyan was drafted into the Red Army , served as a private in one of the regiments of the Moscow proletarian rifle division. Permanent participant in parades held in Moscow, shows and ostentatious exercises. A large number of new models of equipment and weapons were tested on the basis of the division), then served in the 87th anti-aircraft artillery regiment. After graduating from the Military Engineering Academy in 1937, he was appointed an electrical engineer in the air brigade deployed in Kirovograd. In 1940, as part of the regiment, he was redeployed to the city of Leningrad to participate in the Finnish campaign . At the end of the "winter war" he was transferred to the Odessa Military District as an engineer-instructor of special equipment of the air forces of the district. Hakobyan G.A. took part in the Great Patriotic War from June 22, 1941 , was part of the Air Force of the 9th Army, in the Air Force Directorate of the Southern Front. In 1943 he was appointed deputy chief engineer of special equipment of the 4th Air Army , in which he took part in the liberation of the North Caucasus , Taman , Kuban , Ukraine , Belarus , Poland , Czechoslovakia and Germany . During the years of World War II, he introduced inventions, took part in the retrofitting of aircraft, made design changes. Under the leadership of Akopyan and with his personal participation, SB planes were equipped with radio half-munitions, intercoms were replaced on IL-2 planes, battery testing methods were put into practice, the Campaign Laboratory was organized and built on motor vehicles, and on his initiative a bulletin was published for combat units, transferring experience in the operation and field repair of equipment.
- 1945 - 1947 he served in Germany, where he was engaged in engineering, technical and organizational work: he restored and put in order aviation devices and special equipment for combat aircraft, and also trained flight crews.
- 1947 - 1950 served in the main headquarters of the Air Force.
- 1951 - 1963 Dean of the Radio Engineering Department of the Kiev Higher Engineering and Aviation Military School .
- 1958 Hakobyan G. A. was awarded the title of Major General of the Engineering Service. In 1963, he was demobilized from the ranks of the Soviet Army.

Community Work
Hakobyan Gavond Avakovich often came to Armenia, was engaged in public work. He was a deputy of the Kirovakan city council. On his initiative and with his direct participation in the city of Kirovakan, a monument to the Unknown Soldier was erected [1] , and a monument dedicated to the fellow villagers who died in the Great Patriotic War was built in the suburbs of Zhdanovo. In his activity, he paid special attention to the patriotic education of the younger generation, he headed the headquarters of the children's and youthful patriotic game "Zarnitsa" in Kirovakan.
