Biography
The son of a teacher. In 1926 he went to Germany, where until 1932 he studied art history, German philology and philosophy at the universities of Leipzig and Berlin .
Member of the Second World War. Wehrmacht soldier.
From 1955 he worked as a teacher, then as a professor at the German Institute of Literature at the University of Leipzig , where he had a great influence on the poets of the Saxon school.
Died in Potsdam. Buried in Leipzig.
Creativity
The author of the epic series "Poetic Journey" (1959); sonnets with rich symbolic imagery dedicated to the problems of our time (collections of “Images of Love”, 1964; “Identified World”, edition 1972).
He also wrote literary and critical essays. Engaged in translations.
