Biography
Born in a Jewish family. In 13 years he studied jewelry. He began drawing at age 16. There is an assumption that in 1914 he studied at the Kiev Academy with Alexandra Exter . From 1923 he lived in Berlin , was a set designer and costume designer in the Jewish Theater.
In 1926 he moved to Paris , became close to Chagall , Soutine , Larionov , Goncharova . The first solo exhibition - in 1929 . He died of a heart attack. His retrospective exhibition was organized in the Tuileries Palace .
Heritage and Recognition
Later works by Minchin, developing the achievements of Cubism and Expressionism , most closely related to Soutine and Mane-Katz (actually Emmanuel Katz, 1894-1962), were successfully exhibited in London , Glasgow , New York , Bergamo , Milan , Rome , Haifa . The large retrospective exhibition of Minchin was held in 2000 in the Paris Montparnasse Museum, in 2004 - The Dead Angel of Montparnasse - in the Michelangelo Gallery in Bergamo.
