Biography

Graduate of the graduate school of the Institute of Mechanics of Moscow State University (first graduation, 1935). Among the graduates of this year, famous mechanical scientists are L. A. Boyko [1] , I. F. Livurdov, P. V. Myasnikov .

Candidate of physico-mathematical sciences (1945), the topic of the dissertation is “Water hammer in pipes of non-circular cross section and fluid flow between elastic walls”.

He taught at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University . Associate Professor, Department of Theoretical Mechanics, Senior Laboratory Assistant, Hydrodynamic Laboratory. And about. Dean of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics (1939-1940).

Vice-rector of Moscow State University for scientific work.

Head of the Main Directorate of Universities of the People's Commissariat of Education of the RSFSR (since 1937). Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of Universities of the USSR.

He was buried in the Khovansky cemetery .

Scientific activity

During the Great Patriotic War, he conducted important scientific work on defense topics [2] .

Teaching activities

The legendary teacher of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University. He played a large role in the fate of many prominent Russian mathematicians ( N. N. Moiseev [3] , I. I. Vorovich [4] , A. B. Shidlovsky [5] and others).
