Dandelion Zhukova

Dandelion Zhukova [2] ( lat. Taraxacum zhukovae ) is a species of dicotyledonous plants of the genus Dandelion ( Taraxacum ) of the Asteraceae family. It was first described by the Russian botanist Nikolai Nikolayevich Tsvelev in 1984 [3] [4] .

Distribution Description

Endemic to Russia , whose range falls on the Arctic areas of Chukotka and Yakutia [5] .

Probably a relict view of the Pleistocene period. Perennial herb 8–15 cm high [5] . Leaves are simple. Inflorescence is a basket; flowers are usually yellow (?) in color with five or more petals. The fruit is an achene with an appendage in the form of a crest [2] .

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 32 [5] .
