Abylay Road (Kaz. Abylay Zholy ) is a trade and caravan route [1] in Kazakhstan .
Known since the mid-18th century thanks to Abylay Khan . In 1756, the Kyrgyz manap Sauyr, Esengul, Ateke-zhyryk attacked the Kazakh villages of Or and Zhetysu, looted their property and cattle. This was the reason for the raids on the Alatau Kyrgyz. Abylay Khan’s detachments moved through Kokshetau , Yesil , Nuru , Sarysu , Shu , Talas . In 1773-1775, the khan attacked the Tashkent district , then settled his subjects in the fortresses of Shymkent and Tashkent . In these campaigns, he went through the same settlements as in 1756. This path is called Abylai Road ; among the people - Shatsdy Zhol ( Dusty Road ) [2] .
