Geography
The village is located on the banks of the Malaya Khupta River, 10 km from Ryazhsk and 17 km from the station of the same name Mosk.-Michurinskaya and Tula-Syzran railway.
History

A few years ago, there were two villages: Bolshaya and Malaya Zhuravinka. Over time, they grew to such a size that they merged into one village which received the common name Zhuravinka. The name came from the "Zhuravin" (cranberry) swamp, near which people first settled. The first mention of Zhuravinka in the "Payment books of the cities of Ryazan, from Pronsk and the camps of Okologorodnago, Kamenskago and Pekhletskago by letter and measure Tr. Gr. Velyaminov 1594-1597 years. "

The Oklad book of 1676 shows that in the parish of St. Nicholas Church, consisting of the village of Zhuravinkai and the village of Pyshkino, “four courtyards appear”

At different times, the main serf population belonged to the landowners Aksakov, Golitsyn, Engalychev.
Zhuravinka gained rapid development after the abolition of serfdom. In the second half of the 19th century, two crafts developed in the village: the latrine for the stone part (the men went “to build urban houses“ for seasons ”) and the local crafts (women were weaving multi-pair white lace from thin linen threads), which lasted until the 1960s. In 1927, the May 1 lace artel was opened.
As of January 1, 1905, there were 225 yards in the village (676 men and 719 women), two societies - administrative and tax-paying, Zhuravinka was part of the 2nd district council of the 3rd camp, the first medical station and the 1st e reverence. In the village there was a stone church, a school, a state-owned wine shop, 2 windmills, a rushalka, and one mill with a kerosene engine. According to the report of the special commission created by the Ryazhsky Republic of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks at the end of 1927, there were 486 households with 2,712 eaters in the village council. The village council had 6 land regions: Bolshaya Zhuravinka, the village of Kropotinovka, Kropotinovsky Vyselki,
Cool Newsletter, State Zhuravinka and Fofonovsky Vyselki. Arable land there were 2619.99 dess. or 0.97 dess. on the eater; meadows - 152.72 dess. Horses older than 4 years old - 215, cows - 416; horseless - 237 households, with a horse - 227, with 2 horses and more - 28, non-cows - 88, with 1 cow - 375, with 2 or more - 23 households. The main industry remained the latrine - masons, there were 157 of them according to the village council. The village council had 2 wool coasters, 3 sunflowers and 2 churns. 68 households had various non-agricultural incomes on felling boots, on agricultural machinery, etc.
In 1930, the Karl Marx collective farm was formed, now the SEC “Peasant”, pl. years formerly advanced in the district.
In the autumn of 1946, Ryaz was created on the basis of the Zhuravinsky amateur choir. reg. (now State Academic) Rus. Nar choir, led by Zhuravinsky peasant Irina Ivanovna Kosilkina.

Zhuravinka was chosen as the scene of the novel by I. Makarov "Black Shawl", sung in the poetry of the poet, t. Writers Union of Russia Vladimir Silkin.
Nar Russian artist, lacemaker D. A. Smirnova, one of her beautiful creations, a snow-white towel, called "The Land of Zhuravinska is Beautiful." It is made in the ancient traditions of Zhuravinsky lace-making.
