Marcel Zabitzer ( German: Marcel Sabitzer ; born March 17, 1994 in Graz , Austria ) is an Austrian footballer , striker of the RB Leipzig club and the Austrian national team . Member of the European Championship 2016 .

Club career
Marcel played football at the academies of the Vienna Austria , HAC and Admira Wacker . On September 14, 2010, in his match against Sankt Pölten , he made his debut for Admira in the First Austrian League [2] . On September 24, in a duel against Lustenau 07 , Zabitzer scored his first goal for the club [3] . In 2011, Marcel helped the club win the championship of the first division and enter the elite. July 16, 2011 in a match against the Vienna Rapid , he made his debut in the Austrian Bundesliga [4] . On March 7, 2012, in a duel against Kapfenberg , Zabitzer scored his first goal in the elite [5] . On April 28, in a match against Wiener Neustadt , Marcel made his first hat-trick in his career [6] .
In early 2013, Zabitzer moved to Rapid. The transfer amount amounted to 350 thousand euros. On February 17, 2013, in a duel against Vienna's Austria, Marcel made his debut for the new club [7] . A week later, in a match against Red Bull Salzburg , he scored his first goal for Rapid [8] .
At the end of May 2014, Zabitzer accepted the invitation of the German Leitzpig . The transfer amount amounted to 2 million euros. He signed a four-year contract and was immediately leased to the Salzburg Red Bull. On July 19, in a match against the former Rapida club, Marcel made his debut for the “bulls”, replacing Stefan Ilsanker in the second half [9] . A week later, in a duel against Wiener Neustadt, he scored his first goal for a new team [10] .
After the lease was over, Zabitzer returned to RB Leipzig. On July 25, 2015, in his match against Frankfurt , he made his debut in the Second Bundesliga [11] . In the same match, Marcel scored his first goal for the new team. At the end of the debut season, Zabitzer helped the club enter the elite. On August 28, in his match against Hoffenheim , he made his debut in the Bundesliga [12] . At the end of the season, Marcel became the silver medalist of the championship.
International Career
On June 5, 2012, in a friendly match against the Romanian national team, Zabitzer made his debut in the Austrian national team [13] . On May 30, 2014, in a duel against the national team of Iceland, Marcel scored his first goal for the national team [14] .
In the summer of 2016, Marcel fell into the application for the national team to participate in the European Championship in France . In the tournament, he played in matches against teams of Hungary [15] , Portugal [16] and Iceland [17] .
