Perennial herb with a short growing season . Ferula finely divided - plant photophilous , drought tolerant . The plant is polycarpic , individual individuals bloom many times and live for decades.
With age, the root thickens greatly, goes to great depths, strongly branches in the upper part. An adult bush can reach 1 m in diameter and usually has several flowering stems up to 1.5 m in height.
The leaves are hard, bright green, five-fold cirrus dissected, lobes 2-5 mm long, serrated, form a thin, openwork pattern.
Inflorescence is an umbrella . The flowers are yellow, actinomorphic with five petals up to 1 cm in length. It blooms in May, bears fruit in June.
The fruit is a dry achene [2] .
Ferula's medicinal raw material is the milky juice of the roots, gums . The action is tonic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, restorative and anti-tumor. Ferula is used both internally and externally. For oral use, an infusion is used. Outwardly, ferula is used for rubbing sore spots, and it also lubricates wounds, tumors, abscesses, trophic ulcers. You can make compresses by preparing a warmed dressing for a sore spot [4] .
The Yunusov Institute of Plant Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan has developed a technology for the isolation of the estrogen preparation ferulen from the roots of finely dissected ferula. As a result of pharmacological studies, ferulen was proposed for the treatment of ovarian hypofunction, with Shereshevsky-Tetner syndrome , with infertility due to anovulation , with menopause syndrome and delayed sexual development, that is, it is a substitute for the female sex hormone of plant origin [5] .
