Boris Glebovich Annenkov ( January 15, 1952 - October 14, 2015 ) - Soviet and Russian scientist, corresponding member of RAAS (2003) and RAS (2014).

Biography
Born in 1952 in Moscow . In 1975 he graduated from the Blagoveshchensk Agricultural Institute and began working as a junior research fellow at the All-Union Research Institute of Soybeans.
In 1978, he went to work as a geobotanical engineer at the Amur branch of the DalGIPROZEM Design Institute.
In 1979, he entered graduate school, and after graduating from it in 1983, he was a senior researcher in the potato department of the Far Eastern Research Institute of Agriculture. In 1986, after defending his doctoral dissertation, he headed the department of biotechnology and plant protection at this institute, and at the same time became the head of the Far Eastern breeding center. In 1988, he received a degree from a senior research fellow.
In 2003, he was elected a corresponding member of the RAAS. After the unification of the academies in 2014, he became a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, was a member of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Scientific Achievements
He developed the theoretical and practical framework for the protection of varietal potatoes from phytopathogenic viruses and other infections in the Russian Amur Region. He is a pioneer in organizing a laboratory for sterile cultures, phytopathology and rehabilitation, microclonal propagation and cell breeding of agricultural plants. He made a great contribution to the implementation of effective breeding work to create the latest highly disease-resistant Khabarovsk varieties of crops (cereals, soybeans, corn, cucumber, fruit). Developed a number of improved methods of selection-phytopathological assessment and improvement of potatoes; scientific foundations of mushroom cultivation in the Far East, and also established the production of high-quality sowing mushroom mycelium.
