History
The village was formed in the 1930s on the basis of the forest village of the Madara Forestry. For a long time existed in the form of a forest site. The first buildings were barracks for prisoners brought for the construction of the Dubovskaya (Kilemar) railway . Later, the settlement began to be settled by immigrants from the Saratov and Kirov regions. A forge, a horse yard, and a communications switchboard with Dubovaya marina on the Volga were built .
In 1934, the village of Vizimyara was known as the “96th section”. There were a forest plot office (in which the administration of the village council was located for a long time), a shop, a bathhouse, and a boiler house. In 1939, in the “logger’s huts Vizimyara,” as the forest site was also called, 8 people lived, there were 2 residential buildings.
During the Great Patriotic War , Germans, Poles, Crimean Tatars, Kazakhs were resettled to the forest site. They were engaged in logging, construction of the railway. Many died from hard work and poor nutrition. There was a hospital hospital near Lake Shirgiyara, where migrants were treated under supervision. Until now, there have been preserved places of mass graves of those who died during the war: by a pine grove on Ozernaya Street, in a forest, along the former railway.
The participants of the Great Patriotic War were 163 people, of which 20 were killed at the front, 15 were missing. In 2004, 17 veterans of the Great Patriotic War and more than 60 home front workers lived in the village.
In 1958, there were 302 houses in Vizimyar; in 1967, 1,126 people lived.
In 1975, preparations began for the relocation to the village of Vizimyary of settlements that were in the flood zone of the Cheboksary hydroelectric station . Residents of the village of Dubovsky, the village of Otary, marinas Dubovaya, Orekhov Yar, Karachurino and Zayachye were resettled to the village. Along with this, the village received its greatest development.
In the 1980s, a section of the Kilemar railroad between Vizimyars and the village of Dubovsky was demolished (the section Orekhov Yar - Dubovsky was flooded due to the construction of the Cheboksary hydroelectric station). The further section from Vizimyar to Nezhnur was dismantled in the 1990s [3] .
On December 12, 1986, the Vizimyar Village Council was abolished and the Vizimyar Village Council was formed, the village of Vizimyar became a working village . In 2000, the village of Vizimyara was returned the status of a rural settlement.
