Biography

Meside was born in 1869 in the family of the Abkhazian Bey Kaymat Mikanba and his wife Feryal Khanym, who came from the branch of the Abaz family of the Marchan clan [6] . The name at birth is Kadriye; it is also often referred to as Kemale or Camille. On the maternal side, Meside was the cousin of Emine Nazikeda Kadyn Effendi , the first [7] wife of the last Ottoman sultan Mehmed Vahideddin . Together with her and other cousins ​​(Darial, Nadzhie, , Pakize and Fatma) she was sent to the palace to Cemil Sultan , whose aunt Suzidil ​​Hanim served with.

The marriage between Mezide and Abdul-Hamid was concluded on February 2, 1885 in the Yildiz palace [2] . Already at the end of that year, December 19, 1885 [8] , Mezide gave birth to her only child - the son of Mehmet Burhanettin [9] , who became the beloved son of the Sultan [10] .

Meside died three months after the overthrow of her husband and was buried in the cemetery of Yahya Effendi [2] [11] .
