Jean-Antoine Nollet ( fr. Jean Antoine Nollet ; 1700 - 1770 ) - French priest ( abbot ) and physicist (member of the Paris Academy of Sciences since 1739). In his work, he collaborated with the French naturalist Rene Reaumur . He was the author of works on physics, including textbooks.

Biography
Born November 19, 1700 in Pempret in a family of farmers originating from Compiegne .
He received his initial education at Beauvais College . Then he studied in Paris . In 1735 he became a teacher of experimental physics .
He was a professor in Turin and Navarre College , a lecturer in Bordeaux and Versailles , from 1761 he worked at the School of the Arts in Mezieres .
He conducted research in the field of electricity , molecular physics and optics .
He died on April 2, 1770 .
