Butakov, Innokenty Nikolaevich

Innokenty Nikolaevich Butakov (October 11, 1881, Alexandrovsky Zavod, Transbaikalia - February 27, 1970, Zabaykalsk, Chita Region ) - Russian heat engineering scientist, Doctor of Technical Sciences (1935), Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the RSFSR (1944). The son of a petty official. In 1900, he entered the newly opened Tomsk Technological Institute (TTI) and in 1906 became one of the first graduates of the mechanical department of Tomsk Technological Institute.

Head of the foundry, boiler room, wagon shops of Omsk railways workshops (1907-1911). Head of traction service, head of the road bureau of regulation of the Siberian Railway d. in Tomsk (1913-1927).

Professor (1921), since 1923 the head. Department of Thermal Power Plants, Tomsk Polytechnic Institute .

Director of the Transport and Energy Institute of the Siberian Branch of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1944-1950).

Founder of the scientific school of combined generation of electric and thermal energy. During the war, a group of specialists led by Butakov drafted power lines to supply energy to enterprises evacuated to Tomsk. The degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences was awarded to him without defending a dissertation. Prepared 40 candidates and doctors of sciences. He lectured on the organization of production.

Awards: 2 Orders of Lenin (1944, 1953), 3 Orders of the Red Banner of Labor (1940, 1946, 1961); medals, badges "Excellence in Energy", "Excellence in the coal industry."
