“Thunder” - a contingent combat group of the special forces of group “A” of the KGB of the USSR created to participate in the special operation Storm-333 . Since April 1, 2017, it has been part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia .

Content
History
The special group “Thunder” of the KGB of the USSR was formed in the winter of 1979. The staff was staffed by employees of the anti-terrorist unit "A" ("Alpha") of the 7th Directorate of the KGB of the USSR. The group was sent to Afghanistan to participate in Operation Storm 333 . During the operation, two fighters of the group died - D.V. Volkov and G.E. Zudin.
