The 2014 World Series is the decisive series of Major League Baseball games in the 2014 season , in which the winner of the San Francisco Giants National League and the Kansas City Royals American League champion met. The series was held in a format of seven games to four victories. The Kansas City club had the advantage of the field, as the American League team won in the all-star match on July 15 at Target Field . The first game of the series was held on October 21, and the last, seventh game, was held on October 29, 2013. In the Giants series, they defeated the Royals in seven matches, becoming the World Series champion for the third time in five years, and also having won the third championship after moving from New York to San Francisco. In total, this championship became the eighth in the history of the club.

The Giants won their first victory in the series thanks to the excellent play of starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner . The Royals managed to win the second and third games, in which Kansas City relievers Kelvin Hererra , Wade Davis and Greg Holland already demonstrated a good game. The Giants were stronger in the fourth and fifth games, gaining 11 points in the fourth match, and in the fifth, Bumgarner played the full game without missing a single point. In the sixth game, the Royals scored ten points, which allowed them to win and transfer the series to the decisive game. The last match of the series ended with the score 3: 2 in favor of the Giants, who scored Pablo Sandoval , Hunter Pence and Michael Morse . Bamgarner came out as a receiver and spent five dry innings.
