Life and career
Howard Deutsch was born in New York , New York . His parents are Pamela (nee Volkowitz) and Murray Deutsch, music producer and publisher [1] [2] . His uncle is actor Robert Walden (his mother's brother). Deutsch was raised in a Jewish family [3] . Howard Deutsch graduated from en: George W. Hewlett High School , and then attended Ohio State University [4] . He began his career in the advertising department of United Artists Records , in which his father was the president of the company [5] . Deutsch shot music videos for performers such as Billy Idol (“Flesh for Fantasy”) and Billy Joel ( “Keeping the Faith” ) [5] . The full-length directorial debut of Deutsch was the film Girl in Pink , written and produced by John Hughes . His next two directorial works were also created with the participation of John Hughes ( Something wonderful and In the lap of nature ).

- The CableACE Award for filming an episode of the tale of the Tale from the Crypt called Deadly True Prediction [7] .
Personal life
Deutsch met his wife, actress Leah Thompson , during the filming of The Something Wonderful ; she also participated in the filming of Article 99 , his first full-length film without Hughes. [5] They have two daughters, Madeleine (born in 1991) and Zoe (born in 1994), both actresses.
