Elibekyan, Robert Vagarshakovich

Robert Elibekyan was born in Tbilisi on April 21, 1941 . In 1960, Elibekyan moved to Armenia and settled in Yerevan . In 1965 he graduated from the Yerevan Art and Theater Institute , after which, from 1965, he began fruitful creative activity, actively participating in various republican and union exhibitions (Armenia, Bulgaria , Poland , USA , Germany , Latvia , Lithuania , Russia , England , Canada , France , Egypt ). Since 1970, Robert Elibekyan is a member of the Union of Artists of Armenia. Over the years, he successfully acted as a stage designer, both in theaters of Armenia and abroad. Along with this, he was the production designer for a number of films at the Armenfilm film studio. The artist’s active creative activity was embodied in a number of personal exhibitions organized not only in Armenia, Moscow , Vilnius and other cities of the former USSR , but also in the largest centers of Europe and America ^{[1] [2]} .

The works of Robert Elibekyan are exhibited at the National Museum of Armenia, the National Museum of Georgia, the State Tretyakov Gallery , the Museum of Oriental Art (Russia), Italian Museums, US Museums: the White House, Washington, Alec Manukyan Museum, Detroit, Zimerli Museum, New Jersey, Museums France: Champs Elysees, Paris. In recent years, the artist successfully collaborates with the galleries "Soleil" (Canada) and "Daniel Besseiche" (France).

Robert Elibekyan is one of the most gifted colorists of Armenia. Like no one, he owns the secret of color harmonies. Its colorful harmonies are sophisticated and varied. Fancy, meandering arabesques of lines, their “calligraphy”, a kaleidoscope of colors forming ornamental patterns, the play of light and shadow - all this gives the work of Elibekyan not only theatrical, but also oriental flavor. East - and in his characters themselves, reminiscent of either mythical queens or odalisks, sung by European masters from Ingres and Delacroix to Matisse ( N. Apchinskaya ).
