La Castellana ( Spanish: La Castellana ) is a district of the city of Caracas , the capital of Venezuela , located in its northeastern part. La Castellana borders in the south with the municipality of Chacao , in the east with the Altamira district, with the “Caracas Country Club” in the west, the Campo Alegre district and the El Avila National Park in the north.
La Castellana is an important recreational, business and residential area of Caracas, where the cost per square meter of real estate is one of the highest in Venezuela. La Castellana has a range of 5-star hotels, such as the Renaissance Caracas or Me by Meliá.
La Castellana also houses the San Ignacio Shopping Center ( Spanish: Centro San Ignacio ). The popular mall consists of five commercial levels, which have outdoor terraces, sports, music and other shops, a variety of restaurants, as well as a cinema.
In the area of La Castellana, embassies of Germany , Spain , Great Britain , Ecuador , Brazil , Switzerland , Honduras and Japan are also located .
