Major Scientific Achievements
His field of research is the application of multi-step Obreshkov-type methods to solving ordinary differential, integral and integro-differential equations.
Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, V. R. Ibragimov, with the goal of exploring in general terms methods of running ahead, extrapolation and interpolation methods, constructed several formulas with the help of which one can determine the upper bound for the accuracy of explicit and implicit stable multi-step methods of Obreshkov type, developed the theory of Dalqvist. For the first time, he proved the advantages of running ahead methods and built special methods such as prediction-correction for their use. He proved that there are more accurate methods with running ahead. V.Ibrahimov received a special representation of the error of the multi-step method, with which he determined the maximum number of increasing the accuracy of the method after a single application of Richardson extrapolation. To construct more accurate methods, he proposed using hybrid methods, which he applied to solving ordinary differential equations of the first and second order.
V. R. Ibragimov constructed special methods for solving integral equations of Volterra type, with the use of which the number of calculations of the integral's kernel at each step remains constant. He defined sufficient conditions for their convergence. Considering that these methods represent new directions in the theory of numerical methods for solving integral equations, he constructed methods at the junction of multi-step and hybrid methods applied to solving integral and integro-differential equations of Volterra type. He constructed methods with an extended stability domain for solving integral and integro-differential equations of Volterra type, using special test equations. As well as symmetric methods that applied to solving integral equations of Volterra type with symmetric boundaries. With the aim of building stable methods that have higher accuracy and extended stability area and applying them to solving ODE, integral and integro-differential equations of Volterra type, V. R Ibrahimov built methods at the junction of hybrid methods and methods of running ahead.
V.R. Ibragimov was also on the list of organizers of some conferences, such as PCI2010 , PCI2012 , the International Conference and the 6th International Conference on Control. and Optimization with Industrial Applications .
