Sukhe-Bator Street is one of the main streets of the city of Ulan-Ude , located in the Soviet district . On the street of Sukhbaatar are the People's Khural of the Republic of Buryatia and the Administration of the Head of Buryatia . The former names are Novo-Spasskaya Street , Rabochaya Street .

The street is named after Damdin Sukhbaatar , the leader of the Mongolian People’s Revolution of 1921.
Content
Street Geography
Length - 640 meters. It runs from east to west from Smolin Street to the junction of Communist and Borsoev Streets. In the eastern part runs along the northern edge of the Council Square . Streets of Ranjurov and Lenin adjoin the street from the south, at the intersection with the latter, in the north-western corner, there is a pointer to Zero kilometer of Buryatia .
Street History
Around the site of modern school No. 2, there was an old prisoner cemetery where prisoners were buried in a prison prison located on the banks of the Selenga. There was a chapel in the cemetery in the name of the Exaltation of the Cross. Opposite the building was a military fire brigade [1] .
At the beginning of the 20th century, S. I. Rosenstein built a stone house in the Art Nouveau style on Nagornaya Square . The house of Samuel Iosifovich Rosenstein was the first three-story building in Verkhneudinsk (16 Sukhe-Bator St.).
On February 4, 1905, the Eastern Institute , transferred from Vladivostok in connection with the Russo-Japanese War, began to work in the Rosenstein house. On March 6, 1905, students of the Oriental Institute were read a telegram from the acting Governor-General of the Amur Region, General M. S. Andreev, about the termination of studies at the Oriental Institute due to a student strike [2] .
On July 24, 1909, a Catholic church was consecrated. He was on the corner of Novo-Spasskaya and Frolovskaya streets. The church was closed in 1930. The building has not been preserved [3] .
On November 1, 1920, classes at the Baikal People's University began in the Rosenstein house.
On June 13, 1924, by the Decree of the Verkhneudinsky City Executive Committee, Novo-Spasskaya Street was renamed Rabochaya [4] .
November 7, 1924 in the house of Rosenstein opened Buryat Pedagogical College named. V. I. Lenin (Burpedtekhnikum) [5] .
The street began to be actively built up after the construction of the House of Soviets on Nagornaya Square in 1931. April 15, 1932 in the house number 20 on Rabochaya Street, opposite the House of Soviets, classes begin at the Agropedagogical Institute [6] . After dividing the institute into veterinarian and Teacher (pedagogical) institutes, the latter remained in house number 20. The pedagogical workers' faculty also worked there.
Since May 1, 1941, workers ’demonstrations have been held along Work Street [7] .
