Biography

He graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) of the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1966) and graduate school of MGIMO (1971). PhD in Economics . He speaks French , English and German . At diplomatic work since 1970.

  • In 1959 - 1960 - a fitter at a military enterprise in Moscow.
  • In 1966 - 1967 - Assistant at the Ministry of Foreign Trade of the USSR.
  • In 1967 - 1970 - Secretary of the correspondent of the French newspaper " Humanite " in Moscow.
  • In 1970 - 1976 and 1980 . - An employee of the central apparatus of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR.
  • In 1976 - 1980 and 1980 - 1983 he was an employee of the Embassy of the USSR in France .
  • In 1987 - 1992 - Deputy, First Deputy Head of the Office for Security and Cooperation in Europe, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR, then Russia.
  • In 1992 - 1996 - Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Head of the State Delegation of the Russian Federation at the negotiations with Latvia .
  • November 25, 1996 - September 11, 1998 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Slovakia [1] [2] .
