In the 2012 presidential election, the canton residents cast 29.8% of the vote in the 1st round, against 27.4% of Marin Le Pen and 19.9% of Francois Hollande , and Sarkozy won the second round in the canton, receiving 59.9% of the vote (2007 1st round: Sarkozy - 34.1%, Segolen Royal - 18.1%; 2nd round: Sarkozy - 63.0%).
