Biography
Born on October 20, 1937 in Belgorod. Father - Georgi Nikiforovich Dovgan, a soldier of the Red Army (joined in 1932), mother - Alexandra Yakovlevna, worked at the Kursk station as a ticket teller [1] .
In the prewar years, Vyacheslav grew up in Belgorod , then in Kursk , and then in the village of Idritsa, Pskov Region , where the Great Patriotic War found the whole family. In September 1943, everyone returned to liberated Kursk. In February 1946, the family moved to Simferopol at the place of service of the father.
He graduated from high school number 7 in Simferopol, Crimean region, then - Kamyshin Artillery Technical School. He began his military service in an artillery regiment in Belarus, which was later converted to a missile regiment. After training at the F.E.Dzerzhinsky Military Engineering Academy, he was transferred to the Simferopol Center for Long-Range Space Communications in the village of Shkolnoe near Simferopol, which was part of the Strategic Missile Forces . Then he served in the Main Military Clinical Hospital named after N. N. Burdenko . Since 1982, he worked in the branch No. 35 of the Research Institute of Military Medicine of the Ministry of Defense, where he graduated from the post of deputy head of the branch for scientific and test work. In 1988 he defended his thesis on "Technical support of hospital bases of the front in an offensive operation." He retired with the rank of colonel.
Participation in the Lunokhod management program
In April - June 1968, Vyacheslav Georgievich was successfully selected for training as a member of the Lunokhod crew, and then a full training course, after which he was appointed driver of the second shift of the Lunokhod crew. He took part in the management of work on the lunar surface by the following devices [2] :
- " Lunokhod-1 " - from November 7, 1970 to September 14, 1971;
- Lunokhod-2 - from January 16 to May 9, 1973.
Awards
- He was awarded the Soviet Orders of Lenin and the Badge of Honor, as well as the Russian Order of Honor and medals.
- He was awarded the honorary titles “Veteran of Cosmonautics”, “Honored Tester of Space Technology”, “Honorary Radio Operator of the USSR” [3] .
