Terkhathum ( Nepalese. तेह्रथुम जिल्ला ) is one of the 75 districts of Nepal . It is part of the Kosi zone, which, in turn, is part of the country's eastern region .

It borders on Dhankuta (in the south-west), Sankhuvasabha (in the north-west), Taplejung (in the northeast) and Panchthar (in the south-east).
The population according to the 2011 census is 101,577 people, of which 47,151 are men and 54,426 are women [1] . According to the 2001 census, the population numbered 113,111 people [2] .
