Biography
Born in with. Kolyshkino, Pokrovsky District, Saratov Region,.
After graduating from Leningrad University (1937), he worked as a geologist at the Arctic Research Institute , and participated in a two-year wintering expedition.
In 1940-1946 he served in the Red Army , Guard Major of the Quartermaster Service. Member of the Great Patriotic War , awarded the medal "For Military Merit" (08/29/1943), the Order of the Patriotic War II degree (07/13/1944), the Order of the Red Star (04/25/1945).
From 1946 to 1961, teaching at the Leningrad State University - assistant and associate professor of the Department of Minerals, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Geology.
He participated in the work of the Central Kazakh expedition.
Since 1961, head of the sector of hydrothermal deposits of the Institute of Mineralogy, Geochemistry and Crystal Chemistry of Rare Elements (IMGRE).
The author of many publications, including textbooks ("Structures of ore fields", etc.). One of the co-authors of a 3-volume work on RE.
Laureate of the USSR State Prize .
In honor of the scientist named the mineral Great (Velikite, Cu2HgSnS4).
