(5259) Ephegeus ( lat. Epeigeus ) - a typical Trojan asteroid of Jupiter , moving at the Lagrange point L 4 , 60 ° ahead of the planet. The asteroid was discovered on January 30, 1989 by the American astronomer Carolyn Shoemaker at the Palomar Observatory and is named after Ephege (Eng.) , One of the heroes of the Trojan War [2] .
