Biography
Alexey Ogloblin was born on September 30, 1885 in the village of Tyapolevo (now the Demidov District of the Smolensk Region ). In 1905, he graduated from the seminary in Smolensk , in 1911 - the medical faculty of the University of Dorpat . After the October Revolution, Ogloblin actively participated in the creation of the health service of the Red Army [1] .
Since 1922, Ogloblin has been in charge of the propedeutic surgical clinic of the medical faculty of the Smolensk University (later, the Smolensk State Medical Institute), and also headed the surgical department of the Western Hospital No. 969 (now the Smolensk Railway Hospital). From 1924 he worked as the chief physician of the 1st Soviet Hospital of the Smolensk District Health Department (now the 1st City Clinical Hospital), and from January 1933 he headed the department of hospital surgery at the Smolensk State Medical Institute . During World War II, Ogloblin worked in the evacuation in Saratov . In 1944 he returned to work at the department in Smolensk [1] .
Actively investigated the surgical treatment of ulcers, colorectal cancer, bone and articular tuberculosis, as well as issues of military field surgery. He was the author of 46 scientific papers, including 1 monograph. Under his leadership, two doctoral and nine master's theses were defended. In 1959, Ogloblin was awarded the title of Honored Scientist of the RSFSR. Actively engaged in social activities, was elected deputy of the Council of the Union (from the Smolensk region) of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th convocations (1946-1958) [1] [2] [3] [4] .
Died May 20, 1975 , buried in the Bratsk cemetery of Smolensk [1] .
He was awarded the Order of Lenin , the Red Banner of Labor and the Second World War , a number of medals [1] .
