On October 9, 2012, leaders of the political parties that made up the SDN parliamentary coalition announced the creation of a new political party of the same name. On October 21, the constituent congress of the new party was held in Paris. Its first leader was a popular politician, the leader of the Radical Party , a deputy of the French National Assembly and former Minister Jean-Louis Borloo . In November 2012, after the actual split into two opposing camps of France’s largest right-wing party, the Union for the Popular Movement (SND), during the election of a new party leader at the Le Bourget Congress, some well-known politicians left him and transferred to the SDN.
