The persistent preservation of Vseo , including under the influence of the norms of neighboring Portuguese-speaking Brazil, gave this region a certain uniqueness at an early stage of development. The Rioplatian dialect in the writings of some scholars is divided into several smaller territorial varieties: port (porteño) Spanish (Buenos Aires and most of the province of the same name), Patagonian Spanish (patagónico) to the south, and inter-river / coastal Spanish (litoraleño) to north of the capital.
