History
In 1778, the city of Zaraysk received three royal gifts at once - the status of the county town of Ryazan governorate (later the province), a coat of arms and a new regular urban development plan. [1] The coat of arms of Zaraysk was approved on March 29 ( April 9 ), 1779 , the coat of arms was reapproved on October 15, 1991 .
Emblem Description
In the 1st part of the shield, in a golden field there is a part of the coat of arms of Ryazan: a silver sword and scabbard laid crosswise, above them is a green princely hat. In the 2nd part of the shield in the blue field is the old city tower, which is lit by the morning sun, which means that this city has been restored. [2]
