The 15th EKB Men's Champions League (the 56th European Cup) was held from November 4, 2014 to March 25, 2015 with the participation of 28 club teams from 16 countries-members of the European Volleyball Confederation . The Russian team Zenit (Kazan) became the winner of the tournament for the third time in its history [1] .

Qualification system
The 25 places in the Champions League 2014/2015 were distributed according to the EKB rating for 2014, taking into account the results of the performances of the club teams of the EKB member countries in European competition for three seasons (2010 / 20011–2012 / 2013). According to him, places in the League received clubs from 15 countries: Italy , Poland (3 teams each), Russia , Turkey , Belgium , Germany , France (all 2 each), Greece , Austria , Romania , Serbia , Slovenia , Spain , Bulgaria , Czech Republic and Montenegro (1 team each). 3 more places were to be distributed by special invitation of the EKB (wildcard). After refusing to participate in the League of the club from Serbia, the number of vacancies increased to four. These places were received by Russia, Belgium, Austria and Switzerland .

Drawing system
Competitions consist of a preliminary stage, two rounds of the playoffs and the final stage. At the preliminary stage, 28 participating teams are divided into 7 groups. In groups teams play with traveling in two circles. The priority in the distribution of places in groups is the number of wins, then the number of points scored, the ratio of won and lost games, game points, etc. For victories with a score of 3: 0 and 3: 1, teams receive 3 points each, for victories 3: 2 - 2 points each, for losses 2: 3 - 1 point each, for losses 0: 3 and 1: 3 points are not awarded. The best teams from groups and 6 teams out of seven who finished second in the groups go to the playoffs. The host of the final stage is selected from among the teams entered the playoffs and is allowed directly to the final round of the draw.
12 teams participating in the 1/8-final play-off (play-off 12) are divided into pairs and spend between them on two matches with traveling. The winner of the pair is the team that won two wins. In case of equality of victories, the winner is the team that has scored more points in the framework of the two-legged series, the accrual system of which is similar to that used at the preliminary stage. If both teams at the same time scored the same number of points, then an additional (“golden”) set is set, the winner in which goes into the 1/4-finals of the playoffs.
6 teams participating in the quarter-finals of the playoffs (playoffs 6) use the same system to determine the three participants of the final stage, where the host team of the final joins them.
The final stage is held in the format of the “final of four” - the semi-final and two finals (for the 3rd and 1st places).
The draw for the preliminary stage was held in Vienna on June 27, 2014 . According to her results, teams are divided into 7 groups.
