Biography
Born in Leningrad in the family of Shcherbakov Vasily Fedorovich and Shcherbakova (nee Nitip) Maria Makarovna. His father was born into a wealthy Old Believer family. He graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute and worked at Pulkovo Airport. Mother was born in the village of Labinskaya , in a wealthy Cossack family. Her father, Nitipa Makar Minaevich, was the leader of the church choir, which, as she told, spoke to Emperor Nicholas II . After the revolution, she and her sister were forced to hide their origin due to repression. Subsequently, she lost contact with her family, moved to Leningrad and worked at school as a teacher of physics, mathematics and the French language.
From 1954 to 1959 , Eugene Shcherbakov studied at the Leningrad Choreographic School named after Vaganova (in the class of N. Rumyantsev). In 1959 he was accepted into the troupe of the theater. Kirov , where he performed most of the leading solo parts. - His partners were leading soloists of the Kirov Theater - Irina Kolpakova , Olga Moiseeva , Zubkovskaya , Fedicheva , Evteeva , Valentina Ganibalova , Kurgapkina . In 1976 , Yevgeny Shcherbakov was invited to play the role of Fire in the Soviet-American film based on the play of Meterlink . In 1980, he studied at the Leningrad Conservatory at the department of ballet choreography. Since 1982 , he has been working as the chief choreographer at the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater . In 1988 , Yevgeny Shcherbakov returned to St. Petersburg and worked as a tutor-tutor at the Boris Yefman Contemporary Ballet Theater. In 1992 , he worked as a teacher of classical dance at the Vaganov School . In 1995, Yevgeny Shcherbakov was awarded the academic title “ Associate Professor ” of the Department of Classical Ballet and Duo-Classical Dance. In 2005, he left with his wife Stroga Alisa Mikhailovna in Norway in the city of Bergen .
