Ducazny

Dyuzazny ( arm. Դյուցազունք , literally. "Gods, theotokos, heroes, giants" ) or savages ( arm. Դիք ) - patriarch-ancestors of Armenians in the system of ancient Armenian mythology , who were revered as the greatest and most powerful of the gods [1] . Hayk , Aram, Ara Ghezhetsik , Tork Angekh are considered as duzaznymi [1] .

Aram

One of the duzasnas was Aram from the fifth generation of Aikids, with whose name the historical tradition is associated with the names of the people “ Armenians ” and the name of the country “ Armenia ”. Defending the borders of the Armenian lands in the east, Aram enters the struggle against the Medes led by Nyukar Mades; in the south of the country, he and his army heroically reflect the invasion of Assyrian troops led by the giant Barsham, then he moves to the west of the country and defeats the Titanid Payapis Kakhea in Hamirka (Cappadocia). After these “valiant feats in battles,” thanks to which Aram “pushed the limits of Armenia in all directions,” as Movses Khorenatsi writes, “all nations call our country by his name, for example, Greeks - Armen, Persians and Syrians - Armenikk” [1 ] .

Legends about Aram reflect those distant times when historical events took place that significantly influenced the ethnic formation of the Armenians and their resettlement over a specific geographical area. He, like Hayk Naapet, acts as the patriarch-ancestor, the founder of a powerful country, named by neighboring nations by his name. Aram is an epic hero fighting for the independence of his native state, a solar patron god, and the third day of the month in the ancient Armenian calendar is dedicated to him [1] .

Ara Gehetsik

Heroic deeds and devotion to the homeland is also distinguished by the son of Aram - Ara Ghezhetsik . Epic legends tell how the Armenian king Ara rejects the love of the Assyrian queen Shamiram , which serves as an occasion for the outbreak of war between Assyria and Armenia. Ara dies in battle, and Shamiram, hoping to revive him with the spell of witchcraft, spreads the rumor that the dog- faced Araleza creatures, resurrecting the heroes who fell in the battle, "licked Ara’s wounds and revived him." In mythology, Ara became the dying and resurrecting god of spring, the rebirth of nature after hibernation, the god of vegetation and agriculture, fertility and fertility, abundance and the eternal renewal of life. He personified the daily sunrise and sunset. The first month of the Areg calendar was dedicated to him, as the god of spring field work. According to legend, the mountains Arailer ( arm. Արա լեռ letters. "Araev mountain") and Aragats ( arm. Արա գած letters. "Araev throne) [1] are named after him.
