Biography
Born February 10, 1917 in Banja Lok near Kochevie . He graduated from elementary school, worked in a coal mine. After the occupation of Yugoslavia in May 1941, he entered the Liberation Front of Slovenia , and in March 1942, with a group of miners, he was admitted to the South Doleni partisan detachment. Member of the CPY since 1941. In the partisan ranks known under the pseudonym "Yanko."
Quite quickly Marinzel became a company commander, and then led the 2nd battalion of the Kochevsky partisan detachment from the 3rd group. After the formation of the 1st Slovenian proletarian brigade named after Tone Tomšić in early July 1942 he was appointed commander of the 3rd battalion in the brigade.
In December 1942, Anton was wounded in battles against the Slovenian "White Guards" and Italian gendarmes. On January 26, 1943, he died in a partisan hospital in Gornji Ajdovec.
On November 27, 1943, by decree of Josip Broz Tito, he was posthumously awarded the title of People's Hero of Yugoslavia.
