Physical Properties
Dibromodiammine palladium forms two stereoisomers :
- trans- isomer - yellow crystals, triclinic syngony , space group P 1 , cell parameters a = 0.67854 nm, b = 0.71057 nm, c = 0.66241 nm, α = 103.221 °, β = 102.514 °, γ = 100.386 °, Z = 2;
- cis isomer — unstable yellow-brown crystals, rhombic syngony , space group P bca , cell parameters a = 1.33202 nm, b = 1.27223 nm, c = 0.705854 nm °, Z = 8 [1] .
At room temperature it slowly transforms into a trans form.
