The stadium serves as the home arena for the Malawan football club since 1953. The capacity of the arena is about 8,000 spectators.
The stadium was built in 1950–1952 and opened on November 11, 1953. Originally, the stadium was called “Diba” (until 1981). Fans of Malavan also called the stadium San Syros, in honor of the most famous football player Syros Gaigran , who played for Malawan in the 1980s.
