The river is 54 km long [3] .

It originates from a swamp [4] located on the watershed of the Onega and Dvina Bay basins of the White Sea, where the Suzma and Voya rivers (tributary of the Kandy River ) also originate. It flows along the Onega Peninsula . The mouth of the river is located on the Onega coast of the Nizhmozerskaya Bay of Onega Bay [5] of the White Sea .

In the lower reaches is the village of Nizhmozero . The river is crossed by the bridge of the Heinozersk road ( Verkhneozersky - Kyanda ) [6] and the bridge of the Arkhangelsk - Onega highway [7] .
