Dolpa ( Nepalese. डोल्पा जिल्ला ) is one of the 75 districts of Nepal . It is a part of the Karnali zone, which, in turn, is a part of the Midwest region of the country.

In the west it borders with the Jumla and Mugu districts, in the east with the Mustang and Myagdi districts of the Dhaulagiri zone, in the south with the Rukum district of the Rapti zone , in the south-west with the Jayarkot region of the Bheri zone, in the north with the Tibet autonomous region of China . The area of the district is 7889 km², which makes it the largest area of the country (5.36% of the total area of Nepal). The administrative center is the city of Dunai. The height of the area varies from 1525 to 7625 m above sea level. A significant part of the region is occupied by the Shay-Pokkundo National Park, within which is located the mountain lake Phoksundo (at an altitude of 3,612 m).
According to the 2011 census, the population is 36,700, of which 18,238 are men and 18,462 are women [1] . According to the 2001 census, the population numbered 29,545. [2] 70.15% of the population profess Hinduism ; 29.40% - Buddhism and 0.38% - Christianity [3] . 79.5% of the population is engaged in agriculture.
