The 10th Guards Fighter Aviation Stalingrad Division was created on August 24, 1943 by renaming for exemplary performance of command assignments in battles with the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown by the 201st Fighter Aviation Stalingrad Division on the basis of the Order of the Non-Commercial Organization of the USSR ^[1]

The 10th Guards Fighter Aviation Stalingrad Red Banner Order of the Suvorov Division was disbanded on February 28, 1959 as part of the 69th Air Army of the Kiev Military District. Division aviation regiments reorganized:

• The 111th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment was transferred to fighter-bomber aviation , and then reorganized into a separate helicopter squadron on Mi-4 helicopters, followed by reorganization into a separate helicopter regiment;
