Responsibilities
EKVS is responsible for 54,000,000 square kilometers and includes 51 states and territories (European states, Turkey , Russia and Israel ).
The commander of the European Command is also the Supreme Commander of NATO Combined Forces in Europe (SACEUR) in the structures of NATO .
During the Gulf war, the European command controlled the forces stationed at the US Air Force Base Incirlik in Turkey.
