"Tonight" ( eng. The Tonight Show ) - American evening entertainment talk show , going out since 1954. It is the USA ’s longest-running regular TV entertainment program, still airing, as well as the third-largest NBC program following its weekly news program Meet the Press (published since 1947) and the morning news program Today (published since 1952). The program is also the oldest talk show in the history of television.

Over the course of its history, the name of the program has undergone changes, initially it was broadcast under the title Tonight . Since 1962, the name changed to The Tonight Show , under which Johnny Carson led it for 30 years. In recent decades, the name of the current host has been added to the title, now it is called The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon .
